COLOMBO: England Women claimed an unassailable 2-0 lead in their T20 International series against Sri Lanka with a crushing eight-wicket win in Colombo.England won the first game of the three-match series by eight wickets on Sunday after dismissing their hosts for just 94, and it was a similar story on Tuesday. Katherine Brunt’s two for 31 helped a miserly England attack limit Sri Lanka to 108 for six off their 20 overs, with captain Chamari Atapattu (24) the only player to score more than 15.The tourists then knocked off their run chase inside 14 overs with Danielle Wyatt (37) and Amy Jones (36) putting the result beyond doubt with a blistering opening stand of 79 in just 7.3 overs. Tammy Beaumont and Natalie Sciver subsequently had no trouble easing England to a comfortable victory, which ensures a T20I series success to go with the team’s 3-0 sweep in the one-day international matches.
