KARACHI: Rangers Cricket Club continued their winning run in the Fazal Mahmood National Club Championship when they blasted Al Taj Sports Club by six wickets here at the Asifabad Ground the other day.It was the second successive victory for Rangers CC, one of the oldest clubs of the country, in the Zone VII tourney being held under the auspices of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). They had earlier overpowered Baldia Gymkhana, also by six wickets.They encountered few problems in overcoming Al Taj Sports Club whom they routed for a paltry 86 off 24.3 overs. Siraj Khan (37), Abdul Wahid (27) and Noman Afridi (23) did the bulk of the scoring for Al Taj Sports Club whose batsmen were bamboozled by Rehan Sajid (4-9), Muhammad Sadiq (2-11) and Nasir Ali (2-16). Rangers CC needed just 9.5 overs to reach the target, losing four wickets in the process. Ahmed Hussain scored 30, while Hanif Khan remained undefeated on 28 after Zahid Ibrahim had picked up a couple of wickets.
