KARACHI: Sindh Road Cycling Championship, featuring around 50 riders, will be held here in Defence area on Saturday (today).A senior official of Pakistan Cycling Federation (PCF) told ‘The News’ that the event would be contested in individual and team time trial.“In the event those cyclists of Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) and WAPDA will also feature who belong to Sindh,” PCF secretary Azhar Ali Shah said.Shah is in Karachi to witness the event, which will be sponsored by the Defence-based Pakistan Cycling Club.Shah said the club had been given affiliation by the PCF. “This is the first club in history which has been registered with the PCF,” Shah said. “There was no such concept in the PCF constitution to register a club. However, amendment was made to accommodate the club which will have only playing rights,” Shah said.
