DUBAI: Hazratullah Zazai jumped 31 places in the recently-released T20I rankings for batsmen, reaching a career-best seventh position, following a highly successful series against Ireland where he notched up 204 runs in three matches, including a career-best 162* - second highest T20I score.Glenn Maxwell, KL Rahul and D’Arcy Short - all of whom had impressive scores in the recently-concluded two-match T20I series between India and Australia also saw a rise in their positions.Maxwell, with scores of 56 and 113* in the two games, jumped two places to No. 3 with a career-high rating point of 815 - higher than where he was placed when he was the No. 1 batsman in the shortest format a year ago. His efforts helped Australia register their maiden T20I series win in India. For Australia, Short has gained eight positions to be ranked eighth among batsmen in T20Is while Nathan Coulter-Nile, who played a pivitol role in Australia’s win in the Visakhapatnam T20I has picked four slots to be ranked 45th among bowlers.For India, apart from Rahul - who has gained four spots to be ranked sixth - Virat Kohli has jumped two places to 17th and MS Dhoni has climbed seven places to 56th among batsmen. In the bowler’s category, Jasprit Bumrah has advanced 12 places to 15th while Krunal Pandya has climbed 18 spots to gain a career-best position of 43.The Afghanistan-Ireland series has helped Mohammad Nabi gain 12 spots to reach the 30th position in the batsmen’s rankings while Usman Ghani has moved up 25 positions to reach 79th. Mujeeb ur Rahman, who was ranked 42nd among bowlers, has now gone up a couple of slots.
