KARACHI: Pakistan lost their first group match against Chinese Taipei 0-3 in the final qualifying round of the Junior Davis Cup at Bangkok, Thailand on Monday. In the first singles match, Abdullah Adnan suffered 2-6, 4-6 defeat at the hands of Kai Shiang Yang 2-6, 4-6. Zalan Khan was beaten 4-6, 0-6, 0-1 by Cheng Tang in the second match. In the doubles encounter, the Pakistan pair of Abdullah Adnan and Rayan Jawwad lost to Yu Shiang Huang and Cheng Tang 3-6, 3-6. Pakistan will now be up against Thailand on Tuesday (today). Pakistan have been placed in Group C with Chinese Taipei, Thailand and Philippines.
